Happy 1st Birthday Son!
Son, even though you don't know how to read or how to use the internet, I wanted to use my blog to wish you a happy 1st birthday. Your mom and I love you very much. We had a great time celebrating your birthday tonight at Chuck E. Cheese. You won't remember all the fun stuff we did tonight so someday, when you're older, we'll look at the pictures from tonight and I'll tell you all the stories.
I'll tell you about how you and I both climbed through the Cheese Maze and, miraculously, I didn't get stuck and I didn't break the maze:
I'll tell you about how I had more fun playing video games than you did. Arctic Thunder was my favorite game of the night. Even though I kept trying, I couldn't do better than 5th place:
I'll tell you about how you and mom came in dead last in the horse racing video game because mom was so worried that you were going to fall off the saddle that she forgot to push any of the buttons:
I'll tell you about how mom took you down your first tunnel slide while I ate all the pizza:
I'll tell you about how I saved you the crust:
I'll tell you about how you drove a 4x4 truck all by yourself:
I'll tell you about how you made a new friend on the Chuck E. Cheese School Bus:
I'll tell you how you got so tired that we had to take you home:
And I'll tell you how the during the whole drive home your mom and I praised God as we recounted the day of your birth:
Son, your mom and I were filled with so much joy as we reflected on your first year of life. As we thought about you we found that we had so much to thank God for. Someday I'll tell you about it. And I'll tell you about how during the last 2 miles of our drive home your mom and I turned our praises into prayers, praying that from an early age God might open your eyes to who he is. We prayed aggressively. We prayed, like we always do, that while you're still a young boy God might see fit to open your eyes to his holiness and glory, to the reality that you're a sinner in need of a Savior, and to the good news of the gospel--that God's Son has lived a sinless life in your place and died a tragic death on the cross in your place so that you might place your faith in him and enter an eternal relationship with a father who's far better than me, your Heavenly Father.

Happy Birthday to Cru!

Hi
What a wonderful blog, I so enjoyed reading it. I shall also pray that your son gives his life to Jesus at a very early age.
God bless you all
Tina Spain.

Congratulations to you, Taylor and Cru on the news of the upcoming birth of Cru's brother. I hope and pray you are not thinking of naming him Soe!
From one who knows better,
